Summary
VFG is seeking experienced Audit Managers to complete financial statements audits for non-public companies. As a member of our Audit team, you will work directly under the Audit Partner, managing the entire audit process, including audit planning, risk assessment, fieldwork and reporting, conclusion, and wrap-up stages of the audit. In addition, you will play a crucial role in training and supervising junior staff, supporting their professional growth and development.

The Role
- Audit Process Execution: Complete and manage the entire audit process, including conducting risk assessments, developing audit plans, performing audit fieldwork, and issuing audit reports.
- Risk Assessment & Compliance: Perform risk assessments and develop targeted audit plans that effectively address identified risk areas, leading to a thorough and efficient audit process.
- Audit Fieldwork: Perform fieldwork to verify financial information and maintain compliance with GAAS and/or GAAP throughout the audit process.
- Reporting & Communication: Draft financial statements and related footnote disclosures, while clearly communicating audit findings to clients.
- Team Development: Supervise and train junior staff, fostering a collaborative environment to support their growth and monitor their performance on engagements.
- Deadline Management: Meet deadlines and proactively share engagement progress and accomplishments with the Audit Partner.
- Quality Assurance: Contribute to maintaining the quality and effectiveness of audit engagements by staying current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
About You
- Educational Background: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or a related field.
- Certification: CPA certification required.
- Relevant Experience: At least 5+ years of recent professional experience in managing, conducting, and reporting on audits, reviews, and compilations.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of GAAP and GAAS.
- Industry Knowledge (preferred): Experience in industries such as non-public insurance, nonprofit, employee benefit plans, and commercial entities.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects with a strong emphasis on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work in a timely manner.
- Software Skills (preferred): Proficiency with Thomson Reuters Engagement Manager/ Guided Assurance software, Suralink Database Management System, and Microsoft Office.
Practical Details
- Employment and Employment Status: At Will and Exempt
- Compensation: Salary of $120,000 - $160,000, depending on experience. Bonuses are offered based on performance.
- Paid Time Off (PTO) and Sick time: 20 days annually, in addition to paid standard holidays.
